Economic Policies During the COVID-19 Recession
About the Course
Economic Policies During the COVID-19 Recession is an intensive online course that explores how pandemics create intertwined political, social, and economic crises. Using the COVID-19 pandemic as a central case study, the course examines the microeconomic dynamics and policy responses needed to address recessionary shocks, mass unemployment, market disruptions, and the challenges facing vulnerable communities.
Taught by Teresa Ghilarducci – Director of the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis (SCEPA) and Irene and Bernard L. Schwartz Professor of Economics and Policy Analysis at The New School for Social Research – the course provides students with analytical tools to understand economic policy making during an unfolding global crisis.
