The New School for Social Research Summer Intensive program in 2020 offered an online economics class - "Economic Policies During The COVID-19 Recession" - taught by Teresa Ghilarducci, Director of the Scwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis (SCEPA) and Irene and Bernard L Schwartz Professor of Economics and Policy Analysis at The New School for Social Research.
The course can be generally described as an effort to understand policy making in an unfolding global economic and health crisis. It uses the novel coronavirus as both an entrypoint and as a case study to understand topics such as, microeconomic markets, deficits, mass-unemployment, economic modeling, vulnerable communities, and economic relief.
